BRITISH GT TEST
BMW Z4 GT3 Test -
So it’s come to the time of year when I need to start thinking about my plans for the 2014 season.
888Optimum are a sister team to Optimum Motorsport who I currently drive for in the British GT. As I work so closely with 888Optimum we arranged to have a test in their BMW Z4 GT3.
I first tested the car back in July at Snetterton, this was purely to get used to the car and see what it was like to drive a car with Traction Control and ABS etc. The second time I drove the car was at Donington, where driving the car wasn’t such a big step and I was used to all the driver aids.
I’m pleased to say both tests went very well. I have been working closely with Joe Osborne, looking through data to see where I was losing time and getting quicker every lap.
The test at Donington was mainly to see how comfortable I was driving the car on older tyres and how it reacted on different traction control settings.
I do not have any more tests planned in the BMW as of yet but I’m sure there will be more news before the 2014 season kicks off. At the moment I am concentrating on my 2013 GT4 championship. The last round is held at Donington this weekend and myself and my team mate Rick Parfitt Jnr are leading the championship, hoping to finish the weekend GT4 Champions.
